How this part works

Ejercicios interactivos de Reading parte 5 del B2 First: multiple choice, con respuestas. FCE reading practice.

FCE Reading Part 5 is a long text followed by multiple-choice questions. It is the first Reading task in the paper and the closest match to searches for FCE reading practice: you must locate opinion, detail, and reference in a continuous article, not in a one-line gap.

Wrong options are usually true of the text in the wrong place, or they twist a hedge (“might”, “some people”) into a fact. Candidates who highlight every unknown word run out of time; candidates who skim only the first sentence of each paragraph miss the question that points to paragraph four.

On Test 1, read the questions before the text, then hunt for the paraphrase — Cambridge rarely repeats the question wording. Check answers and note whether you missed global meaning or a local pronoun. Test 2 should be timed. If Part 5 is slow, Parts 6 and 7 will be unfinished on exam day.

Part 5 is the core long-text reading task. For the full Reading paper you also need Part 6 (gapped text) and Part 7 (multiple matching). Start here if you want one article with questions.
