How this part works

FCE Reading Part 7 is multiple matching: several short texts or sections (usually A–D) and a list of statements. You decide which section matches each statement. It is scanning under pressure — the last Reading task, when tired candidates start matching a shared topic word and miss the paraphrase.
Statements are almost never copied from the text. “Which person mentions a surprising lack of time?” will not contain the word surprising. You need the section that actually supports that idea. One section can match more than one statement; do not “use up” a letter after the first hit.
On Test 1, underline the claim in each statement (not the nouns), then scan for that claim. Check answers and tag misses as paraphrase vs. section mix-up. Test 2 should be your fastest Reading set. If Part 7 is unfinished in mocks, the problem is usually Part 5 overruns, not Part 7 skill alone.
